Germany does not use VFS Global for appointments in Pakistan. The official VFS page for Germany says all appointments need to be booked directly through the embassy. German missions in Pakistan serve applicants by province of residence, at Islamabad and Karachi.
Schengen (short stay): the waiting list
For Schengen visas, you register on the German mission's official waiting list. Registration is free. When the list is open, VizaFiz can alert you so you can register yourself on the official site. VizaFiz never registers for you.
National (D) visas: Auslandsportal
National visas, such as for work, study or family reunion, go through the Federal Foreign Office's Auslandsportal. Keep three time limits in mind:
- Confirm your waiting list registration every 60 days.
- Submit your application within 30 days once you are asked to.
- A process may be deleted after 90 days without activity, so log in from time to time.
VizaFiz can remind you before these deadlines and tell you when your Auslandsportal status changes, while you stay signed in on your own computer.
